Go with the Float spa helps you reduce stress, relieve pain, and explore deep states of relaxation. Stephen Bryla discovered flotation therapy in 2008, as a sophomore at UMass Amherst. A friend brought it to his attention, and he knew it was something he had to try. He drove to Worcester to try out the nearest flotation tank, where he had a profound experience and wondered why floatation therapy wasn’t more readily available. After attending float conferences in Portland, OR, Stephen opened Go with the Float in Easthampton, creating a place where the people of Western Massachusetts could experience floating. He has come to love the float industry, and facilitating floats in Western Mass has become his passion and life’s mission.
Go with the Float offers flotation therapy and an infrared sauna. Flotation therapy, also known as floating, Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique (REST) therapy, and sensory deprivation, is a simple way to achieve profound relaxation, meditation, and wellness. The experience involves lying down in a small, enclosed float tank filled with 10 inches of water and 1,100 pounds of epsom salt. The high amount of salt makes the water extremely buoyant, allowing you to float effortlessly on the surface of the water. The water and the air inside the tank are set to the same temperature as the outside of the human body, so it’s neither hot nor cold, and there’s no difference between the water and air, allowing you to lose track of your body. The float tank is also completely dark and mitigates sound. This sensory deprivation gives your body, mind, and soul a chance to rest, rejuvenate, and restore, free from all distractions.
Their infrared sauna uses light therapy to seep heat into your body, down to the cellular level, to warm you from within. Because infrared saunas are able to reach the source directly, they require less heat than traditional saunas. Many people find this more comfortable and are able to stay in the sauna longer and gain more physical and mental benefits, even achieving a meditative state. Infrared saunas are unmatched in their ability to detoxify the body and mind.
